More happy feet… I buy these imitation All Stars for 50 NIS a pair. Usually I get two pairs every year, these are from last year, but they’re holding up rather well, so I didn’t buy new ones this year.

365 Project: Day 155 (Busy-Busy)
First of all, let me say thank you to Mrs. Blue Mazda who always parks on the lines. This time, she started to park (badly, as usual) while I was about to take my daughter out of the car. She stared at me for a while, and I couldn’t quite understand if she was waiting for me to finish or if she was waiting to see if she could park on top of me. After a few seconds of this I decided to go ahead and get her out of the car. Mrs. Blue Mazda waited until I was done and then parked as close to me as possible (or so it seems). If I didn’t know she NEVER parks inside the lines, I would think she had something against me.
After this parking faux pas, I went to the post office to pick up my packages. One contained the fabrics I won from Good Sewing and Crafts for sharing the link to their store in the most number of places (see? I’m doing it again). Yey! I didn’t even have to stand in line for very long (only 3 people before me!).
Then, I headed in to town to buy some materials for a few projects I’m working on. I found parking in no time, and I finally used the cellular parking service - instead of paying for an hour “just in case” I paid exactly for the time I was there (1.68 NIS, thank you very much). Genius!
Here’s my loot for the day…

365 Project: Day 154 (Sweet Potato Soup)
I’ve been craving soup lately, I guess it’s a winter thing. I like sweet potato soup for many reasons, one of them is that it’s so easy to make. You don’t even have to cut the vegetables into small pieces:5 minutes preparation, 40 minutes or so on the stove - mash it all up using a stick blender, and you’re done!
If you really feel the need for a recipe - here it is:

365 Project: Day 147
Finally, I don’t have to wear shoes around the house or keep my feet warm using the laptop charger. Happy feet!

365 Project: Day 144 (Soup)
I make this soup every week, even in the summer (the air conditioner is on anyway, so why not?). Vegetable soup is easy, but the real secret is how to make it look like soup, and not just a bunch of vegetables in clear water. Without stock, of course (who makes/keeps stock around the house?).
Here’s how I do it:

Boy’s Hand-Me-Down to Girly Coat in 15 Minutes
We got out all of my older son’s winter clothes from when he was two-ish, filtered out anything that had a truck on it, and were left with plenty of winter clothes for my daughter.
When we got out the winter coat I thought that we could pull it off, all we needed was to make the light blue coat just a bit more girly. So what I did was make a very simple crochet flower using this pattern.
I hand sewed the flower over the monkey-robot-something applique, and now I hope I won’t get too many “Aww, what a cute boy” remarks…
Just in case, I’m putting the money we saved aside for a psychologist when she grows up (all I ever wore were hand-me-downs from my brother!)…

365 Project: Day 138
Whipped cream for my slightly belated birthday cake (which my husband made with his belated birthday present).
